Prostate Cancer Facts:
- Prostate Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed male non-skin cancer in America with over 230,000 predicted cases each year (which surpasses the number of breast cancer cases)
- Every three minutes a man is diagnosed with prostate cancer in the United States
- One out of every 6 men has a lifetime risk of being diagnosed with prostate cancer
- More than 30,000 men will die from prostate cancer this year
- Prostate cancer mortality is expected to decrease 3.5 percent each year because of early detection
- Among African American men, prostate cancer is the most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death. The death rate for this disease is more than twice as high among African American as whites.
